Onboard assisted Savers in switching away from their legacy ERP system to Microsoft Dynamics 365, known at the time as AX7. Dynamics 365 would enable Savers to consolidate the functionality of many external systems into one program and ensure a consistent look and feel across the Microsoft family of products.

Business areas impacted by the change included Record to report, Cash and Bank, Administration and maintenance, Payroll, Purchase to Pay, and Order to Cash. With Onboard’s help, Savers wanted to set up a robust training framework to support end users both at go-live and beyond.

The Challenge

A large number of users, spanning all workstreams, needed to familiarize themselves with Dynamics 365. Internal employees would need to be upskilled to provide initial and on-going training to their colleagues.

Savers also required periodic pauses in the development of the training program, to ensure that their system would be fully configured to their specifications and that the training would accurately reflect this configuration.

The Solution

Onboard provided a flexible and agile approach, coordinating with the client to pause the development of deliverables when necessary, proceeding again after changes to their system were complete. A suite of training materials was developed, including Reference Guides, Quick Cards, eLearning videos, and Trainer Pack Lesson Plans, complete with exercises to provide users with hands-on experience.

To ensure that the client would be able to deliver effective internal training going forward, Onboard consultants provided Savers staff with Trainer Delivery Readiness courses.
