Merkle implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations (D365), including Microsoft’s Project Service Automation module (PSA), to replace a variety of outdated and obsolete systems.

This would enable Merkle to improve operational efficiencies by introducing a center of excellence, with the aim of standardizing key processes and best practices. The project had a phased go-live approach, with the US going live first, followed by the UK and Asia.

The Challenge

As part of Merkle’s transition to D365 and PSA, employees would need to become familiarized with changes to generic functions, project management, and time management processes within the new system.

There was uncertainty surrounding what these processes should look like until late in the project, and they were repeatedly reworked and redesigned. The go-live date was also mutable, to ensure that the client’s system build was appropriately customized to meet their needs.

The Solution

Onboard created role-based training deliverables that helped standardize key process within project management, project accounting, and time management. These deliverables, including Reference Guides, eLearning videos, Lesson Plans, and Exercise Booklets, constituted a suite of training materials for Merkle to use as a foundation for their regional localizations.

Modules were tailored to fit the needs of specific audiences, such as project managers. Trainer Delivery Readiness was also provided to Merkle employees, to equip them with the knowledge and confidence to deliver internal training to their colleagues during go-live and into the future.
